There is a little information about William Shakespear. He was born in 1564 in Stratford-on-avon and he was the youngest in his family. His family was respected, but they were ruinad. So, at age of 14 he was hard-worker. At age of 19 he was married Anne Hathaway - they had three children - and came to London.
The Shakespeare's poems became popular during his life.
He wrote 2 epic poems; 37 plays and 154 sonnets.
There were a lot of comedies and tragedies among Shakespeare's writing, the famous of them were «Midsummer night's dream», «Twelfth Night», «As you like it», «Hamlet», «King Lear», «Otello», «Macbeth», «Romeo and Juliet».
All his sonnet were written in untradition form. The most his sonnets were devoted to an unknown person with W.H. initials, and the sonnets from 123 were devoted tothe Dark Lady.
In 1599 he became one of the owners of Globe Theatre.
The Shakespeare is one of the outstanding person in British literature and history. He is probably the greatest dramatist and poet in the English language.
History of Great Britan
There were many outstanding events in the history of Greate Britain. Many different tribes tried to control the territory of Britain. England was added to the Roman Empire in 43 AD. Roman conquering played a very important role in the history of the country. The Romans built the British the first towns in Britain (There were a lot of great architects among the Romans).
The Normans influenced the British civilizationmost of all.They came in 1066 under the leadership of William the Conqueror. As conquerors language spoke french their speech influenced the English language. Until the 14th English language was not official language; and people used latin language for science and church.
In 14th centure the Gcoffrey Chaucer wrote «The Canterbury tales» in "London" English. It influenced on English literature and language.
Romeo and Juliet
«Romeo and Juliet» is a play about two lovers whose deaths unite their fighting families. This story is based on Italian tale and became very popular during Shakespeare's lifetime.
The play, happen in Verona, begins with a street fight between Montagues and Capulets, who are enemies.
The Prince of Verona stops fighting betweems enemies and said that they would be punishable by death if they start fighting again.
Then, Count Paris talks to Capulet about marring his daughter. Capulet asks Paris to wait another two years and attend a planned Capulet ball. Capulet and Juliet's nurse try to persuade Juliet to accept Paris's courtship.
However Romeo attends the ball at the Capulet house in hopes of meeting Rosaline. But his meets and falls in love with Juliet. After a ball, there is a "balcony scene", where Romeo and Juliet speak about their life in spite of fact that families are enemies. They agree to be married. With the help of Friar Laurence they are secretly marrried the next day.
Juliet's cousin Tybalt challenges Romeo to a duel. Romeo refuses. Mercutio accepts the duel instead of Romeo. But he is fatally wounded when Romeo tries to break up the fight. Romeo fights confronts and slays Tybalt. Prince of Verona says that if Romeo returns "that hour is his last".
Juliet visits Friar Laurence for help; he gives her a drug that will put her a death like coma for "two and forty hours" and promises to send a messenger of plan to Romeo. Romeo doesn't get the messenge, instead he knows about Juliet's death from nis servant Balthasar. Romeo buys poison and goes to the the Capulet crypt, killes Paris and drink his poison.
Then Juliet is awake, she finds Romeo dead and stabs herself with his dagger.
The fighting familes and the Prince of Verona find Paris, Romeo and Juliet dead and agree to end their violend feud.
